SoftServe, an eminent IT consulting and digital services company, has declared its engagement in an international coalition on a NASA-budgeted venture. The mission, spearheaded by Astroport Space Technologies, is dedicated to the progression of extreme environment landing pad technologies, aiming to provide safer landings on the moon's surface. This announcement follows the successful awarding of the NASA STTR 2023 Phase II funding to Astroport Space Technologies.

SoftServe's Role in the Lunar Mission

As part of this collaboration, SoftServe's robotics & advanced automation team will be instrumental in creating and executing digital simulations of the lunar construction process. These simulations will take into account the diverse properties of the moon's surface and soil. The project is funded by NASA's STTR program and is scheduled to commence early this year.

Under the leadership of Astroport, the award recipient, SoftServe's team will work hand-in-hand with a consortium of international partners. Their collective goal is to drive construction efforts on the moon. The participating team members are charged with simulating robotic systems for live construction mechanical interaction and free movement on the lunar surface. In particular, SoftServe's specialists will be constructing and executing models for the terra mechanical interaction between the construction machinery and regolith.
