In an unprecedented move, the Democratic National Convention Committee and host committee have selected four firms to manage the DNC's event logistics and construction at the United Center. The selection was made based on a combination of factors including experience, reliability, cost-effectiveness, ability to meet deadlines, and connections to the Chicago area, with additional consideration given to union involvement and commitment to diversity.

Unveiling the Selected Firms

McHugh-Powers UC, a well-established name in the field, will serve as the construction manager, ensuring that the physical infrastructure of the event is up to the mark. Populous, globally recognized for their innovative architectural designs, will take on the role of the event architect, shaping the visual aesthetics of the event.

Stepping in as the event manager, Hargrove + Show Strategy will oversee the smooth execution of the convention, harmonizing the various elements for a seamless experience. Lastly, Show Strategy, a Black-owned Chicago-based company, will provide exposition services for the convention, making it the first firm of its kind to take on such a significant contracting role for an event of this scale, according to the event organizers.

The convention is scheduled to take place from August 19th through 22nd at the United Center and McCormick Place. This announcement comes as senior members from the Biden campaign and Democratic National Party visit Chicago to inspect the United Center. In the backdrop, state office holders are actively fundraising, despite not being up for election this year. Among them, Governor JB Pritzker stands out for raising significant funds.
