In the heart of Khulna division, numerous driven women are charting a triumphant course over societal barriers and economic difficulties. One such woman, a brave resident of SM College Road in Morrelganj upazila, Bagerhat district, has converted her challenging circumstances into an impressive tale of victory. Abandoned by her husband after a young marriage, she was propelled into a difficult life. However, with resilience, she managed to save money from various odd jobs, ultimately establishing her own store.

An Inspiring Journey

Discussing her journey, the resolute woman revealed, "After my husband abandoned me, I was left helpless with my two children. Despite the precarious financial situation of my father's family, I decided to move to my father's house with my two daughters. That marked the start of a tough yet transformative chapter of my life."

She shared that her early struggles consisted of delivering water to tea shops, working as domestic help, and husking rice at night in other people's houses. Despite all odds, the brave woman managed to establish her grocery store while also working as a cook. Today, she proudly owns a shop, bolstering the economic stability of her family.

Partnering for Progress

Hers is one among numerous stories in the region, thanks to an undertaking by Bopinc known as the Pushti Ambassador Partnership project. This venture, underwritten by the Danish Market Development Programme, offers complimentary training to female micro-entrepreneurs, encouraging feasible business approaches and linking them with well-established distribution networks.

Shilpi Joardar, a fellow woman entrepreneur operating from Thukra union in Dumuria upazila of Khulna district, resonates with this woman's undying spirit. Shilpi successfully manages a grocery store, despite receiving criticism from her family and society. She has now become an epitome of trust in her community.

From Narail's Kalia upazila to Khulna's Dumuria upazila, similar stories of determination and resilience abound. An Endeavor to Empower

Rafayet Alam, impact manager of Bopinc, elucidates, "With the Pushti Ambassador Partnership project, we are currently assisting 200 women entrepreneurs in Khulna's remote regions. Our primary objective is to strengthen a feasible business model by empowering female micro-entrepreneurs in emerging markets. We offer extensive training free of cost. Additionally, we provide guidance on connecting with established companies' distribution networks, ensuring a steady supply of locally-in-demand products."
