SEP Details End of Registration for Beca Universal Beneficiaries, Unveils Card Delivery Strategies

The Public Education Secretariat (SEP) of Mexico has announced key details about the end of the registration process for new beneficiaries of the Beca Universal para el Bienestar Benito Juárez de Educación Media Superior program. Students are required to confirm their incorporation into the program through the Status Searcher by entering their Unique Population Registration Key (CURP). They will then receive the Welfare Bank card, which will be used to deposit payments for September, October, November, and December, adding up to a total of three thousand five hundred pesos.

Two Strategies for Easy Card Distribution

To facilitate the payment card delivery, SEP has established two strategies. The first involves gathering students from the same campus or nearby campuses in one place. The information is available on the website bit.ly/EscuelaXEscuela. The second strategy requires scholarship recipients to go to a Welfare Bank branch as indicated in the searcher to receive their card at the assigned date and time. It's important for minors to be accompanied by a responsible adult.

For continuity scholars, who already have an active Welfare Bank card, scholarship deposits will be verified starting the last week of November in the Status Searcher. The program grants 875 pesos per month for 10 months of the school year, excluding July and August, the vacation period.

Other Scholarships and Awards

Meanwhile, the National Honor Society is awarding $2 million in scholarships to NHS seniors who embody the four pillars of NHS: Scholarship, Service, Leadership, and Character. They offer a range of in-person and virtual events that will help elevate students to the next level. In another development, the application window for the PSC Scholarship (Teaching Service) is open from September 1, 2023, to March 15, 2024. Lavanya G T was selected as the 2023-24 recipient of the International Student Scholarship sponsored by Royzz and Co, providing a $5,000 scholarship to an international student admitted to the law school’s LL.M. program in intellectual property or its master in intellectual property program.
