Resident Evil Village Set to Invade iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max

Unleashing Horror on Mobile
Resident Evil Village, a prominent installment in Capcom’s survival horror series, is slated to make its way to iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max. The game’s developers have announced a release date of October 30 for the iOS and iPadOS versions, coinciding with the game’s port release date in Japan. Although there are no official details about the game’s pricing, it is projected to be approximately US$29.99, based on the current price of the macOS version on the Apple App Store.
A Showcase of Power
Apple’s iPhone 15 event featured Resident Evil Village alongside other acclaimed games like the Resident Evil 4 remake, Death Stranding, and Assassin’s Creed Mirage. These games were utilized to demonstrate the impressive capabilities of the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max models, particularly their new 6-core GPU. This development underlines the potential future of mobile gaming, suggesting that it could increasingly match traditional console gaming.
Impressive Porting Capabilities
Testing of the iPhone 15 Pro Max has revealed that Apple’s capacity to port AAA titles like Resident Evil Village is commendable. The gaming experience provided is comparable to that offered by traditional gaming consoles, showcasing the significant advancements in mobile gaming technology.
Apple’s Gaming Leap
During Capcom’s presentation at the Tokyo Game Show, it was announced that Resident Evil Village and its Winters Expansion are coming to iOS devices on October 30. The game will be playable on iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, and iPad Air and iPad Pro with the M1 chip or later. This development was surprising, considering that Apple also announced the arrival of other AAA titles like Resident Evil 4 Remake, Assassin’s Creed Mirage, and Death Stranding to the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max.
Capcom’s Confirmation
Capcom has officially confirmed that the iPhone 15 Pro and iPad port of Resident Evil Village will be released on October 30. The company revealed that this port will retail for $39.99 for the base game, while The Winters Expansion will be available separately for $19.99. Resident Evil Village will run at 30 frames per second and is compatible with iPhone 15 Pro and iPads with either the M1 or M2 chip. However, no pricing has been announced for this port of Resident Evil Village.
Expanding Mobile Gaming Horizons
During the iPhone 15 Pro event, Apple used Resident Evil gameplay to showcase the GPU power of the A17 Pro chip. Capcom has now released pricing and availability details for the two Resident Evil titles that will run on iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. Both games will be free to demo and require an in-app purchase to fully unlock. Resident Evil Village, which debuted in May 2021, is coming to the iPhone and iPad on October 30. Game compatibility on iOS is exclusive to the iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, and iPads with M1 or later.
Expensive Horror
Capcom’s Resident Evil Village is scheduled to arrive on Apple’s new iPhone 15 Pro and select iPad models on October 30. However, it is not exactly what some might consider affordable for a mobile game. Resident Evil Village will be free to start, but gamers will have to shell out $39.99 to unlock the full game. The Winters Expansion DLC will cost an additional $19.99. Compatibility is limited to the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max, as well as select iPad models.
Anticipating the Thrill
According to Capcom’s website, Resident Evil Village will be available on iPhone and iPad from October 30, 2023. Resident Evil 4, also mentioned during the event, is labeled as arriving sometime in 2023. The system requirements for the iPhone version of Resident Evil Village lists compatibility with just the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. On iPad, it will work with the M2 equipped models of iPad Pro and the fifth generation iPad Air.
