The Pran Pratishtha ceremony at the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, a significant religious event marking the consecration of deities within the temple, is set to be graced by several prominent Indian personalities. Invitations have been extended to luminaries from the world of cricket and Bollywood, and industrialists, underlining the cultural and national significance of the temple, a focal point of historical and religious importance in India.
Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli, notable figures in the cricketing world, and actors Amitabh Bachchan and Akshay Kumar, are among the esteemed invitees. The guest list also includes industrialists Gautam Adani, Mukesh Ambani, and Ratan Tata. The inclusion of these high-profile individuals is expected to draw widespread attention to the ceremony, reflecting the deep-seated connection of the temple to the Indian heritage.
The Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has extended special invitations to 3,000 VVIPs for the ceremony. This includes families of approximately 50 karsevaks who lost their lives in two separate incidents of police firing in 1990, paying homage to their sacrifice. The trust aims to make the consecration ceremony of 'Ram Lalla' a grand affair, leaving no stone unturned in its preparations.
Historical Importance of the Ceremony
The Pran Pratishtha ceremony, scheduled for January 22, 2024, is a landmark event in the history of the Ram Mandir. The foundation stone for the temple was laid by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in August 2020, following the historic Supreme Court judgement. The Prime Minister, along with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat, is expected to be a part of the ceremony. The consecration of the idol of Lord Ram in child form in the ‘sanctum sanctorum’ of the temple marks a significant milestone in the journey of the Ram Mandir.
