Maldives President Celebrates the Contributions of Long-Serving State Officials

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih of the Maldives recently hosted a ceremony to honor the contributions of long-serving state officials towards the country’s development. The ceremony took place at the Maldives Centre for Social Education (MCSE) and was attended by the First Lady Fazna Ahmed, Vice President Faisal Naseem, his spouse Aishath Shamsada, cabinet ministers, state dignitaries, and high-ranking officials.

President Solih stressed the importance of honoring the long-serving employees’ contributions to the State and the people. He applauded the pivotal role they have played in fostering national development and encouraged younger government employees to draw inspiration from their commitment.

The National Award for Public Service
Introduced by the administration in 2021, the National Award for Public Service aims to recognize the efforts of individuals who have made significant contributions to the nation. Since its introduction, 309 individuals have received the award. With the recent ceremony, another 148 were added to this list, bringing the total number of recipients to 457.
