Karnataka Political Turmoil: BJP Protests Against Alleged Pro-Pakistan Slogans, Demands Immediate Action

Amidst escalating tensions over purported ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ slogans heard outside the Karnataka Assembly, BJP MLAs staged a vehement protest within the Vidhana Soudha premises on Thursday morning. Their demand for swift action on the alleged incident echoed through the assembly halls, reverberating against the state government’s inaction.

BJP Legislators Demand Action

The BJP legislators fervently raised slogans decrying the state government’s failure to apprehend those purportedly responsible for chanting Pro-Pakistan slogans outside the assembly. Their chants reverberated with calls for justice and accountability, criticizing what they deemed as a ‘spineless government’ incapable of decisive action.

Leader of Opposition R Ashok expressed dismay over the lack of action, highlighting the urgency of the situation. “It’s been 24 hours, no action has been initiated by the government. What can we expect from them?” he lamented during the assembly session.

Government’s Response and Criticism

In response to the protest, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah assured that the government had dispatched a voice report to the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) for investigation. He pledged that appropriate action would follow once the report was received, reaffirming the government’s commitment to uphold justice.

Moreover, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah didn’t refrain from criticizing the BJP-led central government. He lambasted the BJP MP Ananth Kumar Hegde for his alleged remarks on altering the Constitution. Siddaramaiah questioned the BJP’s commitment to democracy and the Constitution, citing a lack of action against Hegde’s controversial statement.

BJP’s Counteraction and Denial

In a defiant move, BJP MLAs stormed the well of the assembly, intensifying their protest with fervent slogans. However, the BJP’s MP-elect Syed Naseer Hussain refuted the allegations, dismissing claims that his supporters chanted ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ slogans. He asserted that the slogans were in support of him and not in favor of Pakistan.

Hussain vehemently denied hearing any ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ slogans and affirmed his commitment to the nation’s freedom struggle. He pledged to take swift action against anyone found chanting such slogans.

Further Protest Plans

Despite the denial, BJP MLAs announced plans for a ‘Raj Bhavan Chalo’ march from Vidhana Soudha, signaling continued opposition against the state government’s policies, particularly concerning the budget and other state issues.
