Political Parties Under Fire: Farmers Refuse to Back Down

Sarwan Singh Pandher, General Secretary of the Punjab Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee, has declared both the Congress party and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) responsible for the ongoing farmer protests. 12 Demands, One Unified Voice

The farmers have presented a list of 12 demands to the central government. Key among them is the enactment of a law ensuring minimum support prices, along with a comprehensive debt waiver and pensions for farmers and farm laborers. They are also seeking the reinstatement of the Land Acquisition Act of 2013.

Additionally, the farmers have called for punitive measures against those involved in the Lakhimpur Kheri killings and compensation for the families of farmers who lost their lives during the protests in 2021.
