They spent every minute together until she had to continue her journey to Rome. Despite the distance, they maintained a long-distance relationship, with Nencetti even moving to New York for a year to work as a chef.

Moving to Italy Amid a Pandemic

In 2020, when Nencetti’s visa expired, the couple faced a difficult decision: to endure a long-distance relationship again or move to Italy. Amid the pandemic, Rose decided to leave her life in the U.S and move to Italy. Her transition was eased by the expiration of her New York apartment lease and her ability to secure a job teaching online at a language school.

She took to TikTok, where she began posting videos, one of which narrated her life-changing love story. This video went viral, garnering 62 million likes and catapulting Rose into the limelight.

Embracing Life in Italy

Despite the initial challenges posed by the pandemic restrictions in Italy, Rose was warmly received by Nencetti’s family. Nencetti now owns a restaurant in Florence, where they first met, and Rose has started a travel company that organizes city tours around Italy. She recently published her own travel guide with tips about Italy, further cementing her love for the country.

The couple is currently settled in Florence but is open to traveling further in the future.
