Subway to Launch Footlong Cookies Nationwide in January

In a move that redefines dessert dimensions, Subway, the global fast-food chain, is set to introduce footlong cookies in January - an audacious riff on their iconic footlong sandwich format. With this move, Subway aims to bolster its dessert offerings, and appeal to patrons with a penchant for sweets.

First Taste on National Cookie Day

The footlong cookie, an oversized version of the classic chocolate chip delight, made its debut on National Cookie Day in 2022. This limited-run event at a Miami pop-up was so successful that all footlong cookies sold out in less than two hours. Encouraged by this response, Subway decided to take the footlong cookie nationwide.

While the nationwide rollout is planned for January, customers in four selected cities - Chicago, Dallas, Miami, and New York City - will have an early chance to sample the treat on December 4. In these locations, Subway is offering a free footlong cookie with the purchase of any footlong sub, while supplies last.

'Cookieway' and Charitable Giving

In a unique marketing spin, Subway will transform four of its restaurants into 'Cookieways' - where customers can enjoy their footlong treats on National Cookie Day. Enthusiasts in New York City can visit a Subway restaurant to receive their free footlong cookie, available with the purchase of a footlong sub from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. local time, while supplies last.

Subway has also incorporated a charitable angle into this initiative. The company will be donating $1.20 per 180 cookies sold through the end of the year to its Subway Cares Foundation.

Expanding the Dessert Frontier

With the launch of footlong cookies, Subway is pushing the boundaries of traditional dessert sizes. The footlong treat, loaded with chocolate chips, served warm, and deliciously gooey, is anticipated to create quite a stir among customers. Starting in January, this ruler-length dessert will be available at Subway restaurants nationwide, adding a new dimension to the fast-food dessert landscape.
