Indonesia’s newest high-speed rail network is ready to leave the station. PT Kereta Cepat Indonesia-China (KCIC) announced the sale of tickets for the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed train, nicknamed the 'Whoosh'. The inaugural journey is set for October 18, 2023, marking a significant milestone in Indonesia's transport infrastructure.

The WHOOSH train service, a $7.3 billion USD project, is a beacon of modernity in Indonesia's rail transportation. It promises to slash travel time between Jakarta and Bandung from the current two hours to approximately 40 minutes, a monumental leap in intercity connectivity. The rolling stock for the WHOOSH is the KCIC400AF Fuxing EMU trainsets, a testament to advanced engineering and speed.

To provide flexibility, KCIC has enabled diverse payment methods ranging from bank transfers and QRIS to e-Wallets, credit cards, and retail outlets.

Passengers are set to receive a QR Code post-booking, eliminating the need for physical tickets. This move not only streamlines the boarding process but also adds a layer of environmental responsibility by reducing paper usage.
