Neodocs Raises $2M in Seed Funding to Advance Health Test Kits

Neodocs, a Mumbai-based healthtech startup, has successfully raised $2 million in seed funding. The funding round was spearheaded by Omidyar Network India, with contributions from other notable investors such as YCombinator, 9Unicorns, Gemba Capital, and Titan Capital. A group of angel investors also participated in the round, including prominent figures like Kunal Shah of CRED, Varun Alagh of Mamaearth, Vivek Gambhir of Boat, and Harshad Reddy of Apollo Hospital.

Expanding Operations Internationally

This capital injection will enable Neodocs to expand its operations into international markets, including Europe, Australia, the Middle East, and the United States. Founded in 2020 by Nikunj Malpani, Anurag Meena, and Pratik Lodha, the startup has developed health test kits that allow users to carry out tests, take a photo, and receive instant results on their smartphones.

Innovative Health Test Kits

Neodocs has introduced two urine test kits for kidney care and urinary tract infection (UTI) screening, which have been used by over 4,000 doctors in India. To date, the company has sold more than 200,000 test cards. In addition to urine tests, Neodocs is also developing finger-prick blood tests that will provide instant results through a smartphone application.

Collaborations with Pharmaceutical Giants

The startup is in collaboration with several pharmaceutical giants including Cipla, Eris, Sun Pharma, AstraZeneca, Bayer, and RPG Life Sciences. The healthtech sector in India is experiencing significant investor interest and a rise in mergers and acquisitions, with companies like Zyla Health also securing substantial funding for growth. Neodocs' technology empowers doctors with in-clinic testing capabilities for instant screening, diagnosis, and prompt treatment, revolutionizing the way diagnoses are made in India.
