Milei's Health Ministry Plan Altered: Russo Appointed After Cabinet Meeting

These appointments were made public after a Cabinet meeting led by Nicolás Posse, attended by Patricia Bullrich, Luis Petri, and other prominent members. Initially, Javier Milei had planned for the health sector to become a Secretariat within the Ministry of Human Capital, under the direction of Sandra Pettovello.

This ministry will also include areas such as Labor, Education, and Social Development, among other responsibilities. However, in a recent conversation between Milei and Pettovello, who is one of the closest and most trusted collaborators in La Libertad Avanza, the idea of modifying this structure was raised. It was Pettovello who suggested to the future head of state the possibility of establishing the Health portfolio as an independent entity, rather than being under her jurisdiction.

Mario Russo: Chosen Minister with Extensive Medical and Management Background

The truth is that Mario Russo is ultimately the chosen one. He is a prominent clinical cardiologist, known in the medical field for his nearly decade-long career at FLENI. Additionally, he has participated in executive training programs in health management and economics at the Austral University and the Buenos Aires Institute of Technology (ITBA).
