Lumbini Province's Minister of Home Affairs, Santosh Kumar Pandey, has stressed the vital part educational development plays in a nation's overall advancement. This statement was made during the foundation stone-laying ceremony of a four-room building at Bhanu Secondary School in Siddharthanagar-9, Rupandehi. According to Pandey, the provincial government recognises the importance of education and is thus making significant investments in this sector.

A Personal Connection

Minister Pandey also shared a personal connection with the school, further bolstering his commitment to its development. The provincial government, he revealed, has allocated a hefty sum of 30 lakh Nepali rupees specifically for infrastructural development at the school.

Addressing Classroom Shortages

Principal of Bhanu Secondary School, Motilal Suvedi, expressed his faith that the new building would help alleviate the shortage of classrooms, thereby enhancing the quality of education for students. Suvedi estimates the construction work will be completed by the month of Chaitra. However, he also acknowledged the need for an additional budget for finishing work and other related tasks, and has accordingly lodged a request with the provincial government.

National Examinations Board and UNICEF Nepal

In a related development, the National Examinations Board (NEB), responsible for organising Higher Secondary and 10th grade exams in Nepal, continues its operations across the country. The NEB, which evolved from the former Higher Secondary Education Board (HSEB), has provincial and branch offices nationwide. Additionally, UNICEF Nepal is currently seeking proposals for various educational development projects across the nation, underlining the ongoing commitment to educational enhancement in Nepal.
