In the midst of this horrifying episode, a glimmer of courage emerged. Noemi Schiraldi, a 31-year-old off-duty Carabinieri officer, was nearby when she heard Meena's cries for help. She rushed to the scene, intervening and detaining Onkar until help arrived. Despite her swift response, she was unable to prevent the tragic outcome. Her courage, however, serves as a stark reminder of the importance of quick response and intervention in such situations.
