Shooting Not a Terrorist Act

The Belgian police, while investigating the scene, have informed that this incident is not being treated as a terrorist act. The shooting took place in a busy shopping street near the popular Le Hotel. Given the location and circumstances, authorities suspect gang involvement, as stated by mayor Christos Doulkeridis.

Among the injured, one individual's condition is critical. The perpetrators had left the scene by the time police arrived at around 7:30 pm. The Swedish EU politician Tomas Tobé confirmed that one of their staff members is also among the victims. This incident comes on the heels of a similar event in October where two Swedes were killed and another injured in a shooting in Brussels.
