In a recent operation, the Osun State Police Command in Nigeria arrested four individuals suspected of armed robbery: Opeyemi Olawuwo (38), Akolade Kazeem (43), Kazeem Ajala (47), and Abeeb Abioye (29). The arrests were orchestrated by the state's new Commissioner of Police, Mr. Ishaq Muhammad, who later paraded the suspects before the media.
The suspects were apprehended following a strategic stop-and-search operation conducted on the Ife-Ibadan road at Akinlalu Junction. The operation led to the interception of a vehicle that had been reported as forcibly snatched from Prince Godwin Anaidhu.
During the search of the vehicle, the police recovered a Toyota Muzzle Camry, two fabricated wooden rifles, and numerous phones suspected to be stolen. These items serve as tangible evidence of the criminals' unlawful activities.
Interrogation and Confession
During the interrogation, one of the arrested suspects confessed to the crime. In his confession, he further revealed the involvement of an accomplice named Segun, who goes by the a
lias 'Liverpool.' Segun is currently at large, evading the grasp of the law.
As of now, the Anti-Kidnapping Squad is conducting an in-depth investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crime. Efforts are actively underway to capture the remaining suspect, 'Liverpool.'
The arrested individuals will face the full force of the law, being charged in court upon the completion of the investigation. This incident marks a significant achievement for the Osun State Police Command, reflecting their commitment to maintaining law and order in the region.
