In a startling incident, a quartet of cleaning personnel, employed by a Vienna-based company, were recently unmasked as audacious thieves. The group had been working at a school in Hermagor, Austria, where they illicitly procured a key to the institution's safe. This clandestine act led to the theft of several hundred euros in cash, which took place either on Monday or Tuesday.
Uncovering the Thieves
The group comprised three men aged 25, 29, and 33, and a 33-year-old woman, all originally from Romania. The revelation of their crime came to light following an extensive investigation. It was discovered that the group was commuting in a vehicle owned by their Vienna employer. Despite the prompt commencement of a manhunt, the initial search for the culprits did not yield any results.
One Culprit Apprehended
Nevertheless, persistence paid off when authorities eventually located the 25-year-old man in Villach's city area. This city is believed to have been the group's base, with them residing in an apartment there over the past weeks. The man's apprehension, however, has not brought the investigation to a close.
The Hunt Continues
The search for the remaining three individuals and the vehicle continues unabated. As of now, they remain at large, successfully evading the grasp of Austrian law enforcement. The incident serves as a stark reminder of the potentially deceptive appearances that criminals may adopt, even those seemingly engaged in mundane, everyday work.
