In a chilling incident that has come to light in Gurugram's Sector 57, a 13-year-old girl, illegally employed as domestic help, was subjected to severe physical and sexual abuse by her employers. The victim, a native of Bihar, was allegedly held captive in a room, her mouth taped shut, and was subjected to violence and sexual assault of a nature that evokes the darkest corners of humanity.
Abuse Brought to Light
The girl's mother filed a complaint, stating her daughter was subjected to inhumane treatment by her employers. According to the account, she was beaten with an iron rod and hammer, forced to strip, and then filmed nude. The sons of her employer allegedly touched her inappropriately. The victim was only given food once every 48 hours, adding to the unimaginable torment she faced. Acid was poured on her hands, an act of cruelty that leaves indelible marks, both physical and psychological.
Employers Threatened with Dire Consequences
The employers, a woman and her two sons, threatened the girl with severe consequences if she dared to reveal the abuse she was subjected to. This act of intimidation further ensured the victim's silence, making her a prisoner in the truest sense.
Legal Action Ensues
An FIR has been registered against the woman and her two sons under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, and the Juvenile Justice Act. Varun Dahiya, Assistant Commissioner of Police, confirmed that a case has been registered and an investigation is underway. This incident has surfaced only five months after another case where a ten-year-old domestic help was brutally tortured in Dwarka, Delhi, highlighting the grim reality of child labour and abuse in the country.
