In a landmark development for Jigawa State’s agricultural sector, Governor Mallam Umar Namadi has officially inaugurated the COMTTRAJIGAWA Hibiscus Processing Plant in the Maigatari Export Processing Zone. This initiative, a fruitful outcome of a public-private partnership with Comttraex Nigeria Limited, signifies a major stride towards enhancing the local hibiscus value chain and solidifying the state’s commitment to economic diversification and agricultural transformation.

The COMTTRAJIGAWA Hibiscus Processing Plant, established through an agreement signed in April 2022, is set to revolutionize the hibiscus industry in Jigawa State and beyond. Equipped with advanced technology for cleaning and fumigation, the facility boasts a daily cleaning capacity of 6 tons and a fumigation capacity of 48 tons. This is not just a boost to the quality and quantity of hibiscus production but also a significant step towards empowering local farmers by providing them with access to modern processing techniques.
