In a sudden turn of events, a fire broke out in a squatted hotel at the Place du Jeu de Balle in Brussels, resulting in eight injuries. The incident occurred around 4:30 pm, with emergency services swiftly responding to the scene. Upon arrival, firefighters were confronted with an advanced fire situation on the upper floors of the building.

Swift Response and Rescue Operations

Dozens of occupants had managed to self-evacuate in the face of the escalating fire. However, three individuals found themselves trapped by the smoke and flames. Displaying valor and expertise, the firefighters were able to rescue these individuals. By 5:00 pm, the fire was under control. Notably, the firefighters' efforts successfully thwarted the fire from spreading to neighboring buildings.

A medical intervention plan was promptly initiated following the incident. The Red Cross established an advanced medical post on-site, treating five of the victims. The remaining three victims, likely in more severe conditions, were transported to the hospital for further care and treatment.

Mayor's Visit and Ongoing Investigation
