Walker Entertainer Academy has revealed the schedule for the 100FilmsRetreat.com event set to span the first four days of February 2024. Held at the Shiloh retreat facility in Rancho Cucamonga, California, the event will bring to the screen a collection of short films originating from diverse regions across North America and numerous countries worldwide.
Themes and Events at 100FilmsRetreat
The event will delve into a range of themes in its presentations for Black History Month, including documentaries, dramas, and suspense. Attendees will be treated to California wine tasting receptions, the chance to interact with actors and filmmakers, and the opportunity to participate in social media live broadcasts.
Furthermore, the retreat aims to roll out the red carpet for up to 30 world premieres, with 20 productions already vying for awards such as the Black History Month Grand Prize. In addition, specific African Diaspora related videos and films have been invited to feature outside the competition. Filmfreeway.com/FilmsRetreat is still accepting submissions for African Diaspora connected videos or films.
Rancho Cucamonga - A Hub for Short Films
In a separate development that bodes well for the city's reputation as a hub for short films, US President Joe Biden announced last month a 3 billion dollar Federal funding initiative for a new bullet train line from Rancho Cucamonga Station to Las Vegas, Nevada. This project aligns with Walker Entertainer Academy's mission to cement Rancho Cucamonga's standing in the world of short films.
100FilmsRetreat - A Celebration of Black History Month
By celebrating Black History Month and promoting short films from the region, the 100FilmsRetreat 2024 event seeks to contribute to the diverse cultural landscape of Rancho Cucamonga and beyond. Through the screening of diverse short films from various countries and US states, the event aims to foster a global understanding of Black history and its profound impact on contemporary society.
